We want your children to grow up and not be afraid of the dentist. Their first visit is very important and sets the tone for their future experiences.
At Marshgate, we will ensure that they are given the time to relax and feel comfortable. Our emphasis is on preventing decay and the need for fillings and most of our children have no fillings.
Fluoride treatments, oral hygiene visits with the hygienists and fissure sealants all help towards this goal.
We also monitor the growth of their jaws and recommend “full face orthodontics” from an early age if required to align the jaws and prevent the need for extractions.
We are proud of our reputation of providing quality dental care for many years.
Our approach is a simple one:
- First we aim to get your gums healthy
- Next we aim to get your teeth healthy
- Then we encourage you to keep everything healthy through regular visits

I highly recommend this practice. I was treated by Brad Ngan who carried out some major and difficult treatment in the most careful and meticulous fashion. I have been a patient for a number of years and intend to stay.MW
We offer a complete range of
General Dental Treatments
At your initial consultation we will find out the cause of whatever is concerning you. You will then be examined by the dentist for cavities and high resolution digital xrays may be taken to assist in our diagnosis.
We use intra-oral cameras to show you whatever problems you have on a TV, so that patients can see exactly what the dentist sees. Various options will then be discussed to find the best solution for you.
All patients are further examined for bleeding gums and gum disease.
A fully costed treatment plan will the be given to you and appointment times can be arranged to suit you.
Thorough professional cleaning is necessary to maintain healthy gums and fresh breath. Many patients see a dentist but do not have access to a dental hygienist. We are here to help.
The health of your gums will be assessed by your dentist and hygienist. At Fresh we will treat you more thoroughly than you have been treated before. The emphasis is to treat the gum disease that exists BELOW the gums in most patients, rather than just clean the teeth. This will often require multiple sessions to remove all the deep seated infection.
It couldn’t be simpler. We also welcome patients who just want a thorough clean, whether or not they already have a dentist.
Gum Disease Treatments
Gum disease is usually painless and most patients don’t even know that they have it. Infection below the gums, left behind by brushing and flossing, causes the bone supporting the teeth to be destroyed, eventually causing tooth loosening and tooth loss. By removing the infection from the roots of the teeth the disease process can be stopped and health restored. At Marshgate all our dentists are trained to treat you to a high level and to eliminate any disease quickly.
Bad breath largely originates in the mouth due to poor tongue hygiene and gum disease. It also can originate in the nose, nasal passages and sinuses. Each has a characteristic smell which is easily diagnosed by a professional. Treatment depends on the cause. Mouthwash alone does not work. Sufferers are usually oblivious as the subject is largely taboo, but help is easily found with dentists who work in this field. Marshgate dentists have worked in this field for over 20 years with a simple step by step approach.
Many people have had silver amalgam that they now feel are unsightly. These can be easily changed to make a dramatic difference to your smile.
Small fillings, like those above, are suitable for simple white composite resin fillings. If a tooth requires a larger filling, like those below, we recommend a higher strength porcelain inlay or onlay. These are bonded to the tooth, strengthening and protecting the tooth without the need for a crown. They are more natural looking and last longer than crowns and there are no black lines at the margin as the restoration are metal-free.
Root canal treatments
Root canal treatment (also called endodontics) is needed when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth (known as the pulp) is infected through decay or injury.
Why is root canal treatment needed?
If the pulp becomes infected, the infection may spread through the root canal system of the tooth.
This may eventually lead to an abscess. If root canal treatment (RCT) is not carried out, the infection will spread and the tooth may need to be taken out.
Bridges are a way to replace a missing tooth or teeth and an alternative to implants. A bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth by joining an artificial tooth to an adjacent natural tooth or implant. The bridge spans the space where the teeth are missing.
A crown is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth.
A crown is sometimes known as a ‘cap’. Crowns are an ideal restoration for teeth that have been broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling. They can be made of porcelain or gold or a combination of these materials.
